Michele and Ken Copen have been in the breed since 2003. They took up the hobby of showing French Bulldog in conformation in 2006 after attending the 2005 and 2006 French Bulldog National Specialty shows in Sacramento and Tennessee. They realized they could have a fun hobby that combined the love of the breed and a fun activity to do together with their dogs. Since then, Michele was also active for eight years in training and running a Frenchie in AKC Agility Trials. This was a major milestone as French Bulldogs don't generally run agility. She was able to put on a couple titles on the French Bulldog making it an Agility Champion.

Michele was very active volunteering with the Northern California French Bulldog Club and participated in several roles with the club for years; she participated as the Newsletter Editor, Advertising Chair, Catalog Chair, and Trophy Chair. Michele is also a member of the French Bulldog Club of America.

Since Michele and Ken got into the breed, they have done very limited breedings and are recognized as AKC Breeder of Merit through the Breeder of Merit Program despite breeding only once every few years. They produced a French Bulldog in their third litter that was in the Top 20 in the US who was owned by a friend out-of-state that campaigned the French Bulldog. The French Bulldog went on to win Select Dog at the French Bulldog Club of America's National Event at one and half years old in 2010. The Frenchie has also won multiple Best in Speciality Shows.

Michele has been actively training and handling client French Bulldogs for Basic Obedience, CGC, and training for the show ring since 2017. She is also a member of The Association of Professional Dog Trainers. While she loves training all Frenchies, she has won in the show ring with client dogs, Best in Specialty Show, many Non-Sporting Group Placements, many Best of Opposite Sex, and Best in Breeds and has Championed and Grand Championed a client dog. If you are interested in having Michele train or handle your French Bulldog for the show ring, please contact her.

Michele has attended and competed twelve years at the French Bulldog Club of America's annual events since 2005 and has attended many seminars the FBDCA club offers. If Michele is not competing with a French Bulldog, she usually has a booth with her French Bulldog merchandise featuring her photography and Award Winning French Bulldog Collector's Books she has created over the years.

Michele and Ken Copen live in California.
